Does anybody ever do anything with all the other animals that we've classified?

Good question, and absolutely! There is an explanation here, but essentially, the data will be used by the science team and their many partners to estimate populations of the various animals that co-exist with the chimpanzees. As part of the same ecosystem, the non-chimp species can serve as indicators of environmental health, food supply, competition, etc. We also anticipate having some spin-off projects right here that will dive deeper into the different species and behaviors. And every once in a while, outside experts will stop by looking for information and images of their species of interest. None of this would be possible without our classifying every duiker and squirrel and monkey and elephant and... 😄 Hope that helps!
