real dog?

This doesn't look like a wild dog, rather like a coyote from my back yard! Can anyone tell me what this is?

That's right, it's not a wilddog (and not a domestic one as well).
It's a jackal. Hard to see just from behind, but probably a side-striped jackal. We've seen this species here at Restless Star a lot.
