    is there sth sweet or special with this trees? So many insects and butterflies ...and in the last secons a quiet big dragonfly??

    I don't think that this has anything to do with the tree as such. The butterflies are probably rather attracted to the other vegetation (like flowering plants). Two aspects (probably both together) might be responsible: this seems to be a rather open space in the forest, so there is more light to let flowers grow and blossom; and the wood-eating occurs often in swamps, so it is wetter and also favorable conditions for a vegetation that attracts insects like butterflies.

    I was wondering about this, too. Green Snowflake definitely seems to be an ideal location for butterflies. Not sure about the time range of these clips, but the populations we see may also be tied to the season, due to the cameras being located along a migration path, or the environmental conditions being supportive of a population boom (butterflies are an indicator species of ecosystem health). Regardless, they're very interesting and beautiful to watch!
