Chimp & See Talk

Muddy Frost Chimp

  • wandawmn by wandawmn

I may have tagged incorrectly. This adult chimp was seen walking towards a tree trunk, thump at it, then picked up a triangular stone and then aggressively dash of out of camera range. I tagged as a male adult chimp, carrying object and aggression, should perhaps have put tool use as well?
Sadly it was one of the first 5 vids I saw and didn't yet have a good handle on navigation and so didn't save it as a favourite either. Despite trying to find out info on the subject I don't have a clue if i could or how to find the vid again.

    Hi @wandawmn,

could you please post the video ID? To find it you go to this site http://www.chimpandsee.org/#/profile make sure that it shows your "Recents" videos (all the videos you classified are there in the order you watched them) and post the video ID (the number ACP000XXXX is sufficient). Thank You!

It is not a problem that you tagged maybe not entirely correctly. Many users will classify each video and the majority vote will probably get it right. But, of course, it would be nice to see your find. I cannot really remember what video you might be talking about. And if it is really not in yours "Recents" - where it definitely should be! - I don't know how to retrieve it otherwise.

But don't worry about the classification. Yes, a stone is probably used as a hammer (tool), but if he only picked it up without actually using it in that video, you are not necessarily wrong. Chimp, male, carrying object, aggression, as you described it.

It is a shame it isn't there to share, it was so interesting, do you think it isn't there because it was a video I saw before I signed up with an account? I saw 10 before I was prompted to sign up which I did without leaving the page I was on.

Yes, I guess. It is only collecting your "history" when you are logged-in. Sorry. But there will be plenty of other chimp videos, so don't worry!
