Male chimp using stone as hammer

    It is interesting, in nearly all the clips where juveniles cracked nuts, they used wooden hammer. This male takes a big stone. Maybe, the stones are too heavy for the smaller chimps?

    Thanks a lot, mimi, I knew these artice from MPI (I found it yesterday, when I researched after the tool using … I thought I had read that in one regions here are stone using in an another more wood  so it was an updating and interesting reading.
    But Im quite faszinated how very YOUNG in AgedViolet the kids are and can crack the nuts successfully.
    P.S: Interesting the BBC-Film (I didnt know this one, thanks) … it is a comletely different technique 😃
