**Cassini: another injured chimp
-
by AnLand moderator
This male chimp on the log seems to have a hand injury too. See the strangely turned hand in the second screenshot. I think that this is a different injured chimp to the one I posted earlier today here. He is relatively lean with a grayish face and a lighter muzzle. Straight brows. Right ear seems to be OK. Slightly grayish back.

I think in ACP000drk9 (found by @tjilptjilp) and ACP000drkc (found by @Orohena) (both from the same minute), we do see GSMale03 again. The right hand is strangely twisted, the right ear undamaged, brows rather straight, and he has a light muzzle. According to the time stamps in the spreadsheet, this sequence is several hours later, but on the same day.
I have also seen that there is a second video ACP000dsg3 from around the same time (the noon sequence), also found by @Orohena - where I am sure that this is the same guy. Hand is twisted and face view agrees.
At the moment it is unclear whether this is a long, continuous sequence. All videos from the same day and place, but hours apart and - as indicated by the minute count - more recorded videos in between.

I am not 100% sure about this proposal, but in ACP000dcu3 it seems to me that the right hand of the crossing male is injured like Cassini's. The grayish patron of his back would agree. Nothing more is seen unfortunately. Best seen in comparison to the knucklewalking of the other hand.

Posted
-
by NuriaM scientist, moderator in response to Boleyn's comment.
Yes, thatΒ΄s Eliot, but not Cassini. CassiniΒ΄s right hand is super injured and this is not the case.
According to the series, Cassini should be the one behind the log. The other has sort of a knot on his left brow that reminds me of Oden, what do you think?
Oden in ACP000dtjz
but this is a very wild guess π
Posted
-
by Boleyn moderator in response to NuriaM's comment.
Oh yes, I see what you mean. We obviously both mistook him for Cassini because of the face and probably because his right hand seems to hang down a little. But it is intact, yes.
Your guess is not so wild. It really might be Oden. It's just that the picture from video ACP000dtk0 you compare him with is a bit odd. There he looks quite roundish but when you look at the entire video we can see him also from the side and then he looks more like our friend above. Balding and brows fit, not sure about the nose though? We need more opinions π

I am going to give this guy a temp ID: GSMale24 , but I still believe in a match to Oden π
Posted
-
by NuriaM scientist, moderator
left Oden in ACP000dtdj , right GSMale24 in ACP000dr3o
in both cases, their left brow seems to have a knot or a cut at the end, wide nostrils, nicely round ears, and darkened cheeks. What bothers me a bit is that GSMale24 has a round bald spot on his right wrist and Oden doesnΒ΄t, but this could be temporary π
What do you guys think?
Posted
-
by Boleyn moderator
Now this is a much better comparison. I wasn't looking too long for one but you found it!
The brows itself also have the same shape and now I can see his long face. It's funny how the face looks round from the other perspective. The bald spot on the wrist occurs one month after the video on the left and thus could be new. No wonder from all this scratching...
So I'm convinced now too that GSMale24 is Oden. π
Posted
-
by Snorticus in response to Boleyn's comment.
Agree GSMale24 is Oden - he's such an itchy fellow π with big nostrils! The left brow nick fits, dark cheek hollow, nicely rounded left ear.

In ACP000dom6 ACP000dom8 ACP000doma and ACP000dom6 we can see two males having a quick drink. The first is Cassini, his right hand with injury is clearly visible.
I'm not 100% sure about the second chimp. Size and color make me think Eliot but there's no face view.

I think we have Cassini left (leaving) and Bohr still behind the log in ACP000dshg and ACP000dshj at 11:47 h.

I believe the last chimp in ACP000dkgr (also seen in ACP000dkgp) is Cassini. The right hand seems to be injured, body size and build, slightly grayish back etc. agree with his known traits.

He's gait is somehow odd, the right shoulder deeper when he walks what would certainly be the fact with an injured hand like his. Voting yes for Cassini!

ACP000dxa3 - based on the injured right hand: this is Cassini. The male before him in ACP000dxa2 might be Bohr, but I am not sure about this. ACP000dxa4: Eliot follows.

-
by NuriaM scientist, moderator in response to AnLand's comment.
Thanks Anja,
agreed on Cassini and Eliot.
IΒ΄m not sure about Bohr...could be, but could also be Paddy or Lonn π
Posted
-
by Boleyn moderator in response to NuriaM's comment.
I'm quite sure that this is Bohr in ACP000dxa2 because of his size and color.
I think Bohr is a little bigger than Cassini. The first male is bigger than Cassini following him in ACP000dxa3 You can see it when you take some reference points where both walk along thus I think it can't be Paddy, because he's not a very big chimp, maximum size of Cassini and his back is entirely black. Lonn's back is brighter as Cassinis' but the back of the big male in ACP000dxa2 is darker than Cassini's back, so this is quite likely not Lonn. Do I make sense? π
...or 50 shades of grey in chimps backs π

I'm not going to be much help here again. He does walk as though he has an injury and his body type resembles Cassini, but I don't see anything truly identifiable.
