**Match to GSJuv05?

  • chia89 by chia89

Hi, I found some other video that could be matching to GSJuv05, together with the ones proposed by @NuriaM

it seems to me they all have trapezoidal face with not very defined upper part

and clearer muzzle, very protruding eye brows with a very small bald spot just over them and big ears with a fold in the center,

nostrils are quite close to each other but in some videos seems bigger than others,

don't know if for the light or because the match is wrong.

The size and height in respect to the tree seems consistent.

All the videos are also taken at the same place,

two series seems consequent as well but I don't know how to check that if the videos are not charged on the spreadsheet yet.

About the ones proposed by @NuriaM,

    I totally agree on:

while in this others he seems to me a bit different,

but given the really short time between the series I guess it is just due to different lights:

    Thanks @chia89

I think you could be right about the juvenile in ACP000d9r4 (...). But I am going to need some more opinions. For the moment I will give him/her a tempID: GSJuv05b and wait for more thoughts.

Thanks for sharing your opinion about this series: ACP000d9hc ACP000d9he ACP000d9hg ACP000d9hi (...). This is actually no match, but the continuation of a very long sequence ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

so what do you guys think?

    could GSJuv05b be GSJuv05?

@NuriaM I would say GSJuv05b is GSJuv05 because he is always together with Gaia and infant.
But I'd rather not discuss this too much until all the the videos are properly found and classified. There are many in that list which are still not in classification.

@chia89 please have a look at your mailbox! Thanks.

    Thanks @Boleyn,

GSJuv05b is not seen with Gaia and infant ๐Ÿ˜•

yes, letยดs keep track of them until the moment when all videos are classified.

oh sorry @NuriaM I didn't realize that 05b was the one in the 1-chimp videos only. Now that makes things clearer ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

    Hi,

I have fixed a tiny issue about Juv05b; for some reason I gave a temp. ID to two chimps in two different days, and Anja found this out.
I have now split this ID into two; GSJuv05b and GSJuv05c.

Can we go back to discuss this possible match? I have some doubts, I think juv05 looks a bit smaller/younger. b and c seem to agree more, both have a white spot on their left hand, but this could be a movement effect:

    left to right: GSJuv05 ( ACP000d9s8 ), GSJuv05b ( ACP000da8s ), GSJuv05c ( ACP000d9rg )

GSJuv05b and GSJuv05c have lots of things in common. Maybe it's just the different lighting that makes them look a bit different. Small nose, shape of brows, eye setting as well as posture do fit actually. I would also exclude GSJuv05 from this match. His nose is wider, the bald spot smaller and his left ear seems to have a little deformation.

hmmm, juvenile and B/W, I canยดt be sure, but GSJuv05b seems good suggestion. Size fits, also those big ears...

    what do the others think?
