Elephant with a bump

  • Boleyn by Boleyn moderator

This young elephant has some kind of a bump on his hindleg.
I'm not sure if we discussed something like this at RS already but I'm sure, @NuriaM knows the answer πŸ˜‰

    Thanks!!

Hey @Boleyn, I think you are overestimating my knowledge about Pathology πŸ˜›

but let me try...this small bump is the only one I see in his/her * body , so itΒ΄s a local lesion. The ele walks normaly, which means no pain (or at least no big pain) and it is subcutaneous. I would say it can be an old injury that has turned into a local infection in the form of small subcutaneous abscess...any vet in the room?

    *bonus: male or female? πŸ˜ƒ

Overestimating you? No way πŸ˜ƒ Thanks for the answer, an abscess sounds logical.

    "Female" for the bonus question...?
