Elephant on 2 feet

  • Eve00675 by Eve00675

Is he resting, having a scratch or what - liked the way he was on 2 feet at different corners of his body, if you wish.

@NuriaM do you have an explanation for this balancing act?

    interesting 😃

this guy is just walking, following the group, and suddenly s/he finds something on the way. S/he stops to smell it (look at the trunk). His/her brain is busy and his/her front right foot stays balancing for no special reason, s/he is just focused on a very interesting smell on the ground. S/he is just playing with his/her back left foot (think of yourself waiting for the bus and moving one of your feet without even realizing it, just an unconscious action).

When elephants check the ground with their feet, they do it with their soles, and the movement is more horizontal or vertical. It is not the case now. S/he finds an interesting smell on the ground and moves his/her legs in an unconscious way.

    I hope I could help a bit 😕
