Hmmmm...this is really hard to say, but I am thinking of a bacterial skin infection; Staphylococcus are the most common pathogens found in abcesses, and provoke such exudates. They need some prior damage to the skin (or mucous membrane) like wounds (for example resulting from a fight with other elephant -tusk wound?) to start the infection.
But this is only my assumption... give me some time to ask some "real" experts 😃

...here the first answer (from Marion Garai, my "savior" 😃 ):
"I am not a vet, but to me it does look like an ulcer as there appears to be fluid seeping down the side of the body. What the cause was is difficult to guess, it could be a tusk wound"

I have not seen such a wound at this body part in zoo elephants yet, but it looks like it is not a fresh injury. I think it rather looks like this wound trys to heal at the surface, with a lot of granulating tissue all around, but a healing deficit underneath, which produces a lot of wound secretion. Regarding a possible cause, I have not really an idea - a tusk, a spear???"*Thank you guys!!!!
